Conrad is passionate about technology, marketing and building businesses, he is an experienced “all-around executive athlete,” with an expertise in Leadership, Marketing, Business Development and Operations.
Conrad honed his business skills while working for technology companies with roots in Asia, Europe and the United States. As a veteran of multiple early and growth stage technology startups and a digital agency, Conrad has developed a talent in building and growing new markets to address customer needs.
Conrad is the Chief Marketing Officer of WigWag, a technology company in the high-growth Internet of Things (IoT) market. As a co-founding member of the executive management team, he is responsible for the overall marketing strategy and execution. This includes building the brand, thought leadership, public relations, traditional lead generation and unconventional growth hacking efforts.
Previously, Conrad led the US effort to build the French-based Qipit service, recognized by Red Herring as a top 100 "Most Promising" European private technology companies to drive the future of technology. As head of Consumer Marketing, Conrad helped launch the Qipit patented technology that transformed camera phones into a mobile copy centers, enabling users to scan, copy, and fax from anywhere. This core technology enriches the lives of millions of consumers on over 100 million handsets globally.
Conrad also served a vital role in building Dwango Wireless, the first publicly traded pure play mobile media publisher in the US. During his tenure, Conrad was instrumental in growing the company from $0 revenue to over $1.6 million in 2 years, scaling operations and negotiating key license agreements with industry giants such as Verizon Wireless, AT&T Wireless, Motorola, NEC, Qualcomm and DoCoMo.
At Dwango he led an industry first effort: with the first application capable of in-app billing, laying the groundwork for a viable freemium business model in the mobile industry.
Earlier in his career, Conrad was President and co-founder of Trip.net, an application and Internet service provider. Within 24 months of launch,Trip.net became the largest ISP in South Texas providing service in over 125 cities and municipalities.
Conrad is also President of Startegy Advisors, a consultancy he maintains, where he applies his experience and passion for launching leading-edge technology products in the web, mobile and consumer hardware space. Startegy combines agile marketing and lean startup customer development methodologies in an ongoing attempt to apply more business and scientific process to the art of innovation.
Conrad resides in Austin and graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Business Analysis and Management Information Systems. He is a Leadership Austin graduate, co-founder of the Austin Social Media club, co-founder of Club Red for the American Red Cross of Central Texas and served as the first Vice President Emerging Technologies at the Austin Chapter of the American Marketing Association.
